The Blue Lotus Page 5

Wanting to touch Nefertem, Kendra grabbed a fistful of his hair and yanked him back up to her lips. Kissing him with all the passion she felt for him, she sucked his tongue into her mouth. It was her turn to explore his body. Gently she skimmed her fingers across his chest, feeling his muscles bunch beneath her hand. Going lower, she reached for his large cock. Wrapping her fingers around it, she stroked him up and down. He felt like steel encased in velvet. Nefertem growled lowed in his throat. Moving to the velvety head, Kendra found a drop of wetness. Using her finger, she gently rubbed it into his skin. Releasing his cock, Kendra shifted her body so the head of it nestled against her pussy. Wrapping her leg around Nefertem's hip, she rubbed her clit back and forth on it, coating it with her wetness. She could feel her body clench and tighten, begging for release.

Unable to hold off any longer, Nefertem took hold of Kendra's leg and slowly slid into her hot, wet core. He moaned as her body stretched to welcome his. Sheathing himself to the hilt, the cat inside him growled in triumph. It had found its one true mate and it intended to never let her go.

Her body was awash in the most intense pleasure she had ever felt. All she could do was hold on as Nefertem slid in and out of her body. The friction of his hard cock rubbing against her clit was pushing her higher and higher. She couldn't tell where his body ended and hers began. Looking up into Nefertem's eyes, Kendra knew the cat had claimed full control of him. The feral look on his face said it all. His eyes seemed to bore into her, as if he were trying to see right through to her very soul.

When the pleasure reached its crescendo, Kendra let her eyes drift shut, unable to focus on anything except for the pleasure building up inside her. Dropping over the precipice, all she could do was hold onto Nefertem and moan as her climax hit her full force.

Feeling Kendra's body spasmodically clench around him, milking him, Nefertem's release quickly followed hers. Throwing back his head, he growled when he climaxed. As the last wave of pleasure subsided, he collapsed on top of Kendra, totally spent. Heedful of his much greater weight, he rolled to his back, pulling her up against his side. Slowly his breathing returned to normal and the cat receded. For once, after making love, he felt completely sated. And along with that came the feeling of wholeness. The woman he held in his arms did that for him. She completed him. He only wished he could keep her as his.

  Chapter Seven

Still held in Nefertem's embrace, Kendra peered into her lover's face. His eyes met hers and she could see they were once again normal. The cat was gone, leaving the man behind. She smiled up at him.

"I think you have spoiled me for other men. That was amazing."

A slight smile graced his lips. “A statement like that could very well cause me to become a conceited man."

"You can't tell me another woman has never said those very words to you before.” Kendra said in all seriousness.

  "No. You are the first."

Propping herself up on her elbow she looked at her lover. He was serious. She had been the first. “I don't know what kind of women you have known if they have not thought that."

He really did not know what to tell Kendra. Telling her he had never cared if a woman enjoyed his lovemaking, or that he had never made love using all of himself until her, was not an option. The others were just conquests. He wasn't even sure if all of them had actually wanted to sleep with him. The fear of what he was made them accept his advances. The awful truth was he had reveled in that fear. But with Kendra, the opposite was true. He never wanted to see fear in her eyes caused by him.

Kendra soon realized she had hit upon a touchy subject for Nefertem. To ease his discomfort she brushed a feather light kiss across his full lips. “You don't have to answer, Nefertem. I meant it as a compliment. That is why I brought it up in the first place.” She kissed him again. Much to her surprise, she saw his eyes had changed once more. “Again?"

  "Again.” He growled.

She smiled as she felt his cock stir against her hip. “Who am I to deny you? I would only be denying myself.” Moving so she lay atop him, Kendra kissed Nefertem with all the desire growing inside her.

Taking hold of Nefertem's wrists, Kendra pinned them to the mattress with her hands. She knew he could easily break her hold, but he made no move to do so. He looked up at her with intense longing. Kendra sucked in her breath. With a look, Nefertem made her want him desperately. This time she didn't want it slow and gentle. She wanted him hard and fast.

Keeping her hold on Nefertem, Kendra ground her pussy on his fully engorged cock. She moaned. Still wet from their earlier joining, he slid into her all the way to the hilt. Arching her hips, Kendra moved till he was almost out of her body, then slammed down on the hard length of him till she could feel him at the opening of her womb. She kept up the rhythm until their bodies were slick with sweat and release clawed at them. As her climax surged through her, Kendra felt Nefertem's cock pulse inside her, pumping his seed into her. Releasing his hands, she collapsed onto his chest. She kissed his chin when he wrapped his arms around her, holding her close. She could see herself quite easily becoming addicted to his touch.

They made love for the rest of the day and most of the night. The one time they came up for air, it was to raid the fridge sometime during the night. What started as feeding tidbits of food to one another, soon turned into another round of lovemaking on top of the kitchen table. Kendra would never be able to sit at the table and not remember what took place on it.

Now, with the early morning light shining brightly through the half-opened curtains of her room, Kendra stretched, making her aware of the numerous sore muscles she had acquired during the night. Lazily turning her head to look at her beside clock, she jumped out of bed swearing a blue streak. She only had forty-five minutes to dress and get to work. Kendra ran to the bathroom.

Nefertem, who had been soundly asleep in the bed next to Kendra, rolled out from under the sheets and surged to his feet. He frantically searched the room for the cause of Kendra's agitation. A thorough searched turned up nothing untoward. All he could hear was the water running in the bedroom's ensuite.

Deciding to find out what the trouble was, Nefertem crossed the room to the bathroom. He found Kendra madly trying to brush her teeth and her hair at the same time. “What is the matter? Why the rush?"

Rinsing her mouth, Kendra roughly finished dragging the brush through her long hair. “I am going to be late for work. I forgot to set my alarm clock last night.” Pushing Nefertem out of her way, she hurriedly went to her closet.

"What is this work you speak of?"

"I work as a receptionist at an art gallery. It isn't much of a job, but it pays the bills."

"Must you do this work today? I rather you were back in the bed. With me."

Kendra bit back a moan. Even after all the times they had made love during the night, she still felt her body melt at his words. He was turning her into a wanton.

"I really wish I could, Nefertem, but my boss is not a very understanding man. And there really isn't anyone to cover for me if I were to call in sick."

He wasn't ready yet to admit defeat. Nefertem wanted her even more than he had before. The countless times he had taken her had nowhere near taken the edge off his desire. Coming up behind Kendra, he brushed her hair aside and kissed the back of her neck. “Stay with me. We could do more enjoyable things together than this work you feel you have to do."

She turned and shoved Nefertem away. Placing the skirt and blouse she had picked from her closet on the bed, Kendra moved to the dresser. “I am sure we could, but the answer is still no."

Nefertem sighed. “All right, you win. How long will you be gone?"

Having donned a bra and panties, Kendra was struggling to put on her pantyhose. “All day. I work until five so I will be home shortly after that."

"What am I supposed to do when you are gone?"

Finally finished dressing, Kendra quickly gave Nefertem a kiss good-bye. “Watch television, sleep, whatev
er you want. Just don't leave the house under any circumstances. Promise me?"

Nefertem shook his head and smiled. “I promise."

"Good. I have to run.” With that said, Kendra rushed down the stairs and out the front door.

Nefertem did go back to bed for a few hours until his growling stomach woke him up demanding food. Unable to ignore it, he decided to shower first then eat.

Letting the warm water stream over his body, he praised the person who invented the shower. He definitely could get used to this, warm water at a turn of a dial.

After finding something to eat in the kitchen, he did as Kendra suggested and turned on the television. He found there were different shows on to watch during the day from those during the night. He watched one called the local news. What he saw disturbed him. This world held a lot of pain, which made his circumstance worse. What was to come lived for pain and suffering, punishing all for the few miscreants who committed the worst of sins.

Eventually he had to change the channel. The more he watched, the more the other part of him was finding delight in all the pain the mortals went through. The next channel, took him a few minutes to get the storyline straight. It kept jumping back and forth from one couple's life to another, following the same line. The couples were either making love, fighting with one another, or having to fend off an outsider that wanted to separate them. Nefertem found it entertaining on the simplest of levels.

He spent the remainder of the morning watching one show after another. The only good thing about television was it kept his mind off Kendra's absence. When he did loose interest in what was playing before him on the television screen, she dominated his thoughts.

It was just about two hours before Kendra was expected home when the doorbell rang. At first Nefertem didn't know what had caused the ringing sound. When the bell rang a second time, he followed the sound to its origins. It had come from the small white box on the wall by the front door. Only then did he notice the two people standing on the other side of the door. He could see one, a woman, impatiently pacing before the small side window set beside the entrance.

Slowly he opened the door. He knew Kendra had made him promise not to leave the house, but she had not said what to do if someone came here. Once the door was fully open, the woman walked past him into the house leaving her companion, a man, to follow.

Nefertem closed the door behind them. He recognized the woman; it was Kendra's friend Tory. “Kendra is not home yet."

"I know. I didn't come to see Kendra. I came to see you.” Tory said.

Nefertem had a feeling he knew why Tory was here. Their first meeting had shown him how protective she was of Kendra. Tory was here to make sure he didn't hurt her friend. “I am not sure Kendra would appreciate your coming here to talk to me when she isn't home."

"I'm not worried about that. She'll get over it. I am more concerned about what your intentions are."

Shooting a quick glance toward the man who had accompanied Tory, Nefertem asked, “Did you bring reinforcements in case I would not cooperate?"

Tory rolled her eyes. “No. I don't need any help doing that."

The man chuckled. “Tory does have her ways.” He held out his hand for Nefertem to shake. When his gesture wasn't accepted, he cleared his throat and let his hand fall to his side. “My name is Scott Burrows. I'm a good friend of Tory."

Nefertem did not miss the possessive way Scott had called Tory a good friend. The man was trying to tell him Tory was his. Nefertem looked the other man up and down. Scott stood just under six foot. He had shaggy, dirty blonde hair that he obviously did not spend much time worrying about how it looked. His dark brown eyes showed intelligence. Looking back at Tory, Nefertem motioned for her to go into the living room.

Once the three of them were seated, Tory turned to look at Nefertem. “I won't let you mess with Kendra's head."

  "I do not understand."

Tory shook her head. “Sorry, I keep forgetting you're Egyptian. I mean, don't make Kendra fall for you. Not unless you intend to stay."

"You know that is not possible."

"Then leave now. Today, while she is at work. Go back to where you came from."

From the corner of his eye, Nefertem watched Scott get up and move across the room to take a closer look at something. “I cannot do that either."

  "Damn it, Nefertem!"

The sound of something heavy falling on the carpeted floor drew their eyes to where Scott stood. He looked a trifle pale. His eyes were locked on the object now lying at his feet. “What did you just call him?"

Seeing what it was that Scott had dropped, Nefertem went to retrieve it. The other man had found his helmet. It had somehow been overlooked when his belongings were taken upstairs. Having been set on a small side table in the corner of the room probably was the reason why.

Helmet in hand, he answered Scott's question himself. “My name is Nefertem."

Excitedly, the other man pointed at the helmet. “That is real, isn't it?"

"Of course it is real. Why wouldn't it be?"

"No, I mean it really is an ancient Egyptian piece."

Tory groaned. “Kendra is really going to kill me now."

  "You knew about the helmet?"

"Not exactly, Scott.” Tory turned her attention onto Nefertem, hoping to make him understand what Scott was and what kind of danger he could pose.

"Nefertem, by trade, Scott is an Egyptologist. Simply put, he has made it his life's work studying everything to do with ancient Egypt.” Taking a deep breath, Tory added, “He is also the one who translated the hieroglyphs."

Nefertem's hard gaze shot to Scott's face. “You were the one? For someone who is so learned, you should have known what those words meant."

Having watched the interchange between Tory and Nefertem, Scott knew there was something they were keeping from him. “Why don't you tell me what they meant? I recognized the first part from the Book of the Dead, but the last part I have never come across."

His challenge was met with silence. Nefertem stood stone-faced, not willing to elaborate on his words. But his demeanour didn't put Scott off. One trait Scott had was persistence. He loved puzzling out mysteries. That was part of the reason why he chose his line of work and this was one mystery he wasn't going to pass up.

He knew Nefertem wasn't about to let him get his hands on the helmet again. The other man had tucked it underneath one arm, very firmly. But the short time he had actually held it had been enough for him. Just being able to study it from a short distance away would suffice. So switching his brain to problem solving mode, Scott quietly began to try and figure out how the helmet and the hieroglyphs tied together.

Nefertem tightened his grip on his helmet. The far away look that came over Scott heralded trouble. He had seen the intelligence in the other man's eyes before, but now he was seeing to what extent. He had a feeling it would only be a matter of time before Scott figured out who he was, especially since he was an expert on Egypt of old. Nefertem would be very surprised if the other man didn't come up with the answer.

He was soon proven correct. Scott's face went pale, as he looked Nefertem up and down. His mouth kept opening and closing, as if he couldn't get words past his lips. Nefertem stood ready for the axe to fall.

Scott finally stammered, “You ... you can't be real. They are just myths.” Slipping into Egyptian, he distractedly recited a part of the Story of Re.

Swiftly, Nefertem grabbed Scott by the throat, effectively silencing him. “Do not speak her name to me.” By the look of fear in Scott's eyes, he knew his words had come out all too cat like. Releasing the other man, Nefertem took a step away. Tory came around him to stand supportively at Scott's side.

"What the hell is the matter with you, Nefertem?” Tory snapped at him.

Finding his voice once more, Scott stopped Tory before she could say anymore. “No, Tory. He is right; I shouldn't have said what I did."

"You may find that acceptable, but I don't
. I have no idea what you said and it doesn't matter. He still had no right to grab you like that. And what the hell is with the damn cat growling?"

Scott looked at Nefertem for a second before he answered Tory. The other man stood utterly emotionless and still. “Nefertem is an ancient Egyptian God."

She couldn't help herself, Tory burst out laughing. “You can't be serious?” When neither of the two men so much as cracked a smile, she let her laughter die away. “You are serious."

"I am dead serious.” Gently moving Tory so she stood in front of him, Scott said, “This is Nefertem. He is a member of the holy triad of Memphis. His father is the god Ptah, the creator-god of Memphis. His mother is the lioness-headed goddess of war and destruction, Sekhmet."

Nefertem growled a warning. “I told you not to speak her name before me."

Tory knew she was gawking at Nefertem like an idiot, but she couldn't stop herself. She had never met a real god in person before. “Your mother sounds like a real bitch when she wants to be.” Her attempt at light humour fell flat. Nefertem's face remained emotionless as ever.

"I do not joke about my mother."

"Sorry, I didn't mean to insult you. I am just finding it hard to get my brain around your being a god."

Giving Tory's shoulder a squeeze, Scott interjected, “Even with the knowledge I have about Nefertem, I can't believe it either. That he is real. I also get the feeling there is more about him that I don't know.” He turned her so she faced him. “I do know you are involved in some way with bringing Nefertem here, so spill the beans."

"Kendra didn't want you to know about this and right now, I think I have made a terrible mistake in bringing you here."
